The Forum took place in Moscow in the area of Expocenter from October 20 to 23, 2010. The theme of the Forum was “ Water as a global source of development”.
The business schedule of the Forum included plenary meetings and discussions. Scientific, technical and managing aspects of water branch development were touched upon as well as legislative questions of legal control, tax and custom discounts for works investing into advanced water- and nature-friendly technologies, questions of financial regulation of water disposal and clearing systems.
Vadim Kulikov, the head of the Center of Innovations took part as a contributor in the conference “Improvement of water branch attractiveness for investments”. The moderator of the conference was Elmira Nabiullina, the Minister of economy development of Russia. Kulikov’s report “The technologies of innovations promotion by state and private partnership” was dedicated to the problems of water supply and canalization reforming.
In one of his interviews Vadim Kulikov stressed out that though there is the water strategy in Russia supported by the program “Pure Water” the promotion has not been so great as it was planned a year ago. ‘I think we must have the specific federal program that works, - he mentioned. – There must be responsible people not only for water and wastewater treatment plants but for the water supplies of Russia in general.
According to Vadim Kulikov’s words Russia needs clear rules on water quality. “We also should return to the issue of melioration, - he added. – This is the issue of those fires we’ve got this year. This is the issue of water anyway. I’m absolutely sure that after the second Forum there will be the third and so on. And in 5-6 years we’ll get the most important thing – pure water in every tap. We’ll be able to use that water right at home. And it will be like this in every town, in every location of Russia”.
